ONLYOFFICE integration app for Nextcloud updated: download restriction, external links for reference, and new themes
The latest version of the ONLYOFFICE integration app for Nextcloud, version 9.9, introduces new features for document control, improved usability, and interface customization. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.
Download restriction
A new setting lets you disable file downloads via ONLYOFFICE app, both in the file manager and the editors. It ensures sensitive content can be viewed and edited, but not downloaded.
External link support for reference data
Use external links when working with reference data inside your spreadsheets.
Where to find: ONLYOFFICE Spreadsheet Editor -> Paste the copied data from the source workbook -> Paste Special -> Paste link
You can also update the data, enable automatic data updates, or change the data source.
Switch to the Data tab and click the External links button.
Check Automatically update data from the linked sources to keep all data constantly up-to-date or choose the necessary option in the Update values drop-down list.
In the same window, click the Open source button to open the source workbook or click the Change source button to change the source link.
System and contrast dark themes
The integration app now supports the system and contrast dark theme. These themes offer improved visual comfort and accessibility, particularly in low-light conditions.
Where to find: View tab -> Interface Theme -> Same as system/Contrast Dark
It is also possible to set these themes as default ones in the ONLYOFFICE settings.
Other updates
- Close button for editors
- JWT expiration setting
- Nextcloud v29 is no longer supported
