Create and fill out PDF forms

Since the release of version 8.0, PDF has become the standard format for ONLYOFFICE fillable forms. Now this feature is available in the ONLYOFFICE and ownCloud integration. You can create complex PDF forms with interactive fields and fill them out right in your ownCloud platform.

Annotate PDF files

Another feature introduced by version 8.0 is PDF annotation. Now you can also annotate PDFs in your ownCloud platform. For example, you can highlight, underline and strikethrough text in your file. Additionally, you can leave comments and draw different objects and lines with the built-in drawing tools.

To annotate a PDF, find the required file, click on it and choose the Open in ONLYOFFICE option. When the PDF file is opened, go to the Comment tab and choose the tool you need.

Choose users to provide access to protected ranges

The updated ONLYOFFICE connector for ownCloud makes it easier to work with protected ranges in your spreadsheets. When using this feature, now you can choose the users who you want to be able to edit a certain range. Additionally, you can even block a range completely so that nobody can make edits to this range.

Where to find: Protection Tab -> Protect range -> New -> Who can edit

Use avatars for more convenient document collaboration

To make the document collaboration more convenient, the updated ONLYOFFICE connector for ownCloud allows you to see other users’ avatars so that you can easily recognize who is working on the same document except you at this moment.

Combine documents from your storage

The document combination feature comes in handy when you need to merge multiple separate documents into a single file. The ONLYOFFICE connector v9.1.1 comes with a new option allowing you to choose files for document combination from your storage.

Use the offline viewer for shared documents

The updated ONLYOFFICE connector for ownCloud lets you use the offline viewer when sharing documents with external users. With this feature, you can share your files as they are with external users and keep editing them. In this case, external users can access your documents but they won’t see your further modifications until you finish the editing process.

Reference data from co-editing sessions

Using the ONLYOFFICE spreadsheet editor, you can now create external links to certain cells or ranges of cells in other workbooks within the same instance. Such links make it easier to share data between several workbooks.

To add an external link, you need to copy data from the source workbook and paste it into the required workbook using the Paste link option. When your workbooks are linked, you are allowed to choose one of the following options:

  • Update values to ensure seamless data synchronization of data between the two workbooks;
  • Change source to modify the origin of data retrieval;
  • Open source to provide instant access to the file from which data is collected;
  • Break link to remove connections between the two workbooks.

Where to find: Data tab -> External links
