Liferay connector 2.2.0 with file previews and Force Save
We updated the ONLYOFFICE Docs integration app for Liferay, adding new tools such as file previews, ability to keep intermediate versions, empty file templates in Galician, and other improvements.
File previews
With the new version of the integration app, you can preview your files without opening ONLYOFFICE Docs.
To enable web previews of the documents:
- Go to Control Panel >> Configuration >> System Settings >> Connectors.
- Go to ONLYOFFICE settings, scroll down and tick Enable ONLYOFFICE Web Preview.
To view the document, click on the file name to open the document page. The latest version of the file content will be displayed.
You can browse all previous versions of the documents too. Open the document information menu next to the Share button, find the desired version in the list and click View in its context menu.
Force Save
By default, the changes you make in a document in Liferay are saved in the cache of ONLYOFFICE Docs (Document Server). They are sent to the server only after you close the document, and the new version is registered.
With Force Save enabled, you can save document versions and revisions manually at any moment to add the current version to the history, directly to the server.
This will give you more control over history navigation and let you keep accurate versioning manually. Force save can also help you keep your content safe when you have unstable internet connection.
To enable Force Save:
- Go to Control Panel >> Configuration >> System Settings >> Connectors.
- Go to ONLYOFFICE settings, scroll down and tick Enable Force Save.
To save intermediate version manually while editing the document, click on the Save icon on the top toolbar.
Other improvements
Other improvements of the Liferay integration app include:
- Support for empty document templates in Galician language.
- File lock scheme revised with Checkin/Checkout actions instead of Lock/Unlock.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements.
