ONLYOFFICE Documents v9.1 for iOS: AI assistant, role-based form filling, RTL text direction, and more
The latest update of ONLYOFFICE Documents for iOS is here! Version 9.1 brings the power of AI directly into your mobile editors, expands form workflows in DocSpace, and adds more tools for comfortable work on the go. Let’s explore what’s new in detail.

AI assistant
The new version introduces built-in AI assistance in the document and spreadsheet editors on iOS. You can now give commands in plain language and let the AI handle text-related tasks right inside your file — no need to search through menus or remember complex tools.

For example, you can ask the assistant to:
- Check spelling and grammar;
- Rewrite or summarize selected text;
- Generate ideas and improve your writing;
- Translate;
- Apply text and table formatting;
- Automate routine tasks using natural language queries.
Where to find: Click the Star icon in the top bar -> Enter your query in the AI assistant bar or use the buttons from the menu

For an AI provider, you can connect your preferred option — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Ollama — to tailor the experience to your needs and keep your workflow flexible.
How to connect AI model
Go to the AI settings by clicking the corresponding icon in the upper right corner. Click +Add AI Model.

Then, type the model name and choose a provider from the list. In the API key field, paste the key from the provider’s official website.
Click Load Available Model and select your preferred one. Click Add.

Role-based form filling in DocSpace
Connected to DocSpace version 3.1.0 and higher, ONLYOFFICE Documents now supports assigned roles when starting a form-filling process.
This improvement makes workflows more structured: administrators can define who fills which parts of the form, ensuring accuracy and saving time.

Other updates for DocSpace users:
- Display of user avatars from DocSpace during real-time collaboration;
- New DocSpace setting for enabling or disabling invitations for internal users and guests;
- Log in to DocSpace via LinkedIn and Zoom.

Version 9.1 makes real-time co-editing in ONLYOFFICE Documents even more transparent and intuitive.
The Track Changes feature now works more smoothly, displaying edits and suggestions more clearly, allowing you to easily review, accept, or reject modifications while collaborating with teammates.
