Challenging, eye-opening, supportive: Marko Todorović shares his internship experience at ONLYOFFICE

We continue our series of interviews with our wonderful interns who help us make ONLYOFFICE better and better every day. Today, Marko Todorović from Montenegro shares his journey and valuable insights from his internship experience with ONLYOFFICE. Explore his story in this post.

Personal background

Please briefly introduce yourself.

I graduated from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, which gave me a solid foundation in business and management. Over the years, I’ve built experience in both marketing and sales, and I’m always eager to explore new ways to connect brands with people.

What was your inspiration behind pursuing this particular career path or field of study?

Marketing has always felt like a natural fit for me because it combines strategy, creativity, and communication. My studies and early work experiences made me realize how much I enjoy analyzing markets and understanding what drives people’s decisions. That curiosity has kept me passionate about this field.

The one person (a mentor, teacher or public figure) who has influenced your professional journey so far?

I’d say my biggest influence was my first manager in marketing. He encouraged me to approach every project with curiosity and to back up my ideas with solid research and data. His guidance taught me the importance of making informed decisions and helped me strengthen my analytical skills, which continue to shape my work today.

What’s a fun or quirky fact about you that your team might not know?

Outside of work, I’m actually a musician. I create my own music and perform with my band, which has gained notable recognition across the region. Music means a lot to me and is a big part of who I am.

ONLYOFFICE experience

What’s the one surprising thing you discovered about ONLYOFFICE after joining?

I was genuinely surprised by how open and supportive the company culture is. Even though I haven’t met everyone in person yet, it’s clear that collaboration and mutual support are core values here.

Have you had any memorable moments with your team or fellow interns?

Since I’m still working remotely, I haven’t had the chance to meet my colleagues face-to-face. However, I already feel a strong sense of connection within the team and hope we’ll have the opportunity to connect in person soon.

Is there a particular value or practice at ONLYOFFICE that resonates with you?

The emphasis on continuous learning and growth really resonates with me. I appreciate that the company encourages us to take on new challenges and supports our professional development.

If you could describe your internship experience in three words, what would they be and why?

Challenging, eye-opening, supportive.

• Challenging: I learned a lot by stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things.
• Eye-opening: I discovered how much goes on behind the scenes and saw the industry from a new angle.
• Supportive: The team was always there to help and made me feel welcome from day one.

How has this internship influenced your career goals?

This experience has reinforced my interest in market research and digital marketing. It’s shown me how much I enjoy working in environments that value innovation and teamwork.

Skill development and motivation

Can you share a project you worked on during your internship that you’re particularly proud of?

I was most proud of my work on market research, where I identified and profiled key influencers for a campaign. It was rewarding to apply advanced targeting techniques and see how data can drive impactful marketing strategies.

What tools or skills have you picked up that you think will be useful in your future career?

I’ve become much more proficient with digital analytics tools and learned new methods for audience segmentation. These skills will be invaluable for any future marketing or business development roles.

How do you stay motivated and productive during remote work?

I maintain my motivation by creating a structured routine and prioritizing my tasks for the day. Whenever I need a boost, I turn to music, either listening to my favorite tracks or working on a new song, which always re-energizes me and sparks creativity.

Future plans

What’s your dream job or company (besides ONLYOFFICE, of course)?

I’d love to work for a global company that’s at the forefront of digital innovation, preferably in a role that combines market research, strategy, and creative campaign development.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

In five years, I see myself leading a team in marketing or business development, working on projects that challenge me and allow me to keep learning, while still making time for music on the side. Ideally, I’d love to continue that journey at ONLYOFFICE, or in a similar environment that values innovation, growth, and creativity.
