ONLYOFFICE connector v1.3.0 for Chamilo: demo server, JWT header configuration, addresses for internal requests and more

Good news, everyone!

We have updated our official integration app for Chamilo to version 1.3.0 making it possible to connect to an ONLYOFFICE demo server, configure the JWT header, add addresses for internal requests and more. Keep reading for further information.

Connection to an ONLYOFFICE demo server

This feature enables you to test the ONLYOFFICE online editors within the Chamilo platform without having a running instance of ONLYOFFICE Docs. All you need to do is to install the latest version of the ONLYOFFICE integration app. In this case, you will have access to a public demo server that will be available within 30 days.

Where to find: Go to Administration settings -> Access Plugins -> Find ONLYOFFICE -> Click the Configure button -> Connect to demo ONLYOFFICE Docs server

JWT header configuration

In version 1.3.0, there is a new option which allows you to configure the ONLYOFFICE and Chamilo integration more precisely. Now you can use the default JWT authorization header or specify yours in the corresponding field.

Where to find: Go to Administration settings -> Access Plugins -> Find ONLYOFFICE -> Click the Configure button -> Authorization header

Addresses for internal requests

The updated ONLYOFFICE connector also lets you configure the advanced server settings. Now you can specify the ONLYOFFICE Docs address for internal requests from the Chamilo server and vice versa in case your network configuration doesn’t allow requests between the servers via public addresses.

These settings are optional so you can leave the corresponding fields blank.

Where to find: Go to Administration settings -> Access Plugins -> Find ONLYOFFICE -> Click the Configure button -> ONLYOFFICE Docs address for internal requests from the server / Server address for internal requests from ONLYOFFICE Docs

Validation of the ONLYOFFICE settings

Version 1.3.0 also allows you to check if the ONLYOFFICE integration app is configured correctly. Just enter all the required parameters in the ONLYOFFICE settings section and click the Save button. If something is wrong, you will see an error message.

If everything is configured in the right manner, you will see the corresponding notification.

Quick access to ONLYOFFICE Docs Cloud

In the ONLYOFFICE settings section, there is now a special button which allows you to quickly access the ONLYOFFICE Docs Cloud registration page. The cloud-based version of ONLYOFFICE Docs allows you to enjoy all the editing and collaborative features of the on-premise version without having to install and configure the office suite manually.

When you click the Get Now button, you will be redirected to the ONLYOFFICE official website and be able to fill out a special form. If you complete the form and follow further steps, you will receive an email with the details that are required to connect your Chamilo platform to ONLYOFFICE Docs (ONLYOFFICE Document Server) in the cloud:

• Document Server address;
• Document Server JWT Header;
• Document Server secret.

Other improvements and changes

• Empty file templates in Traditional Chinese, Basque, Malay and Galician;
• No support for ONLYOFFICE Docs (ONLYOFFICE Document Server) v6.0 and earlier.
