New integration available: ONLYOFFICE Docs and Dropbox

Our new integration app allows Dropbox users to work on office files directly within their platform using the functionality of ONLYOFFICE Docs. Keep reading to find out more.
ONLYOFFICE app for Dropbox: an overview
The ONLYOFFICE integration app provides Dropbox users with the ability to view and edit text documents, spreadsheets, presentations and fillable forms stored in their Dropbox account.
To open a file with ONLYOFFICE Docs, you need to access the additional options by clicking the 3 dots icon.
After that, you will see a contextual menu with a list of additional options for the file. Click on the Open in option and select ONLYOFFICE Docs.
That’s it. The corresponding ONLYOFFICE editor will open in a new tab in full-screen mode allowing you to view the file and make the required edits if necessary.
Please note that this algorithm works for OOXML files (DOCX, XLSX and PPTX) and ONLYOFFICE’s own formats (DOCXF and OFORM). If you try to open a file whose format is not supported for editing, you will see a new window with the following options:
- Open the file for viewing only
- Create an OOXML file copy
- Open the file for editing
To proceed, you need to choose the desired option and click Open.
How to install the ONLYOFFICE integration app
Currently, the ONLYOFFICE integration app is not available in the Dropbox App Center. To add it to your Dropbox platform, you should click the button below:
If you are not logged into Dropbox, you will be offered to log in using one of the available options.
When you are logged into your Dropbox account, you will need to grant some permissions to the ONLYOFFICE app. Don’t worry about your privacy. The ONLYOFFICE app just needs the permissions to view basic information about your account and edit content. If you are OK with it, click Allow.
Congratulations! If done correctly, you will be redirected to your Dropbox storage. Now you can work on your office files using all the editing and formatting tools provided by ONLYOFFICE Docs.
How to disconnect the integration app
If you no longer want to use ONLYOFFICE Docs, you can disconnect the integration app via the profile settings. Click your name in the upper right corner, choose Settings, access the Apps section, find ONLYOFFICE Docs and click on its icon. You will see some additional information about the integration app. To delete the app, just click the Disconnect button.
Then you will have to confirm the action again. When done, the ONLYOFFICE integration app will be removed from the list of available third-party apps for Dropbox.
Supported formats
Using the ONLYOFFICE integration app, you can view and edit the following file formats:
- DOCX documents;
- XLSX spreadsheets;
- PPTX presentations;
- DOCXF form templates;
- OFORM fillable forms.
Also, you can view and convert for further editing other formats, including DOC, DOCM, DOT, DOTX, DOTM, ODT, FODT, OTT, RTF, TXT, HTML, HTM, MHT, XML, PDF, DJVU, FB2, EPUB, XPS, OXPS, XLS, XLSM, XLT, XLTX, XLTM, ODS, FODS, OTS, CSV, PPS, PPSX, PPSM, PPT, PPTM, POT, POTX, POTM, ODP, FODP, OTP.
