ONLYOFFICE connector for Nextcloud: document co-editing between federated clouds is now available

19 December 2019By Ksenija

Hello!

We’ve updated ONLYOFFICE integration app for Nextcloud to version 4.0, offering you a few useful improvements. Learn more about the new release from today’s blog post.

What’s new

The updated version features:

  • Real-time document collaboration between federated clouds;
  • Polish translation;
  • British (EN-GB) file templates;
  • Removed support for Nextcloud v.14.
Co-authoring between federated cloud instances

From now on you are able to co-edit docs shared between multiple different Nextcloud instances using ONLYOFFICE online editors. This new option will be especially useful for big enterprises or e.g. research centres that have lots of different Nextcloud server locations and need to work on documents together.

You just have to share the document entering the necessary federated cloud ID:

As soon as users form another federated cloud accept your ‘remote share’, you can co-author the same doc all together.

Please note: To collaborate on the document shared using the Federated Cloud Sharing app make sure you use the same Document Server.
