Good news! As an open-source community, we have successfully announced 2 projects in Open Source Promotion Plan 2023, which is one of the most popular open-source events in China.
We welcome students from all over the world to apply for our projects. Participants will receive a bonus and a certificate of completion. Read the article for more details.
What is Open Source Promotion Plan
Open Source Promotion Plan (OSPP) is a summer program organized by the Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences. It aims to encourage college students to participate in developing & maintaining open-source software and promote the open-source community.
It’s open to college students around the world. Students can apply for a project they’re interested in. Accepted students will work on the project under the guidance of a community mentor. Participants who have passed the final assessment will receive a bonus and a certificate of completion.

ONLYOFFICE projects
We participate in OSPP 2023 and have released two development projects of different difficulty as bellow:
Project 1: Writing a macro for inserting Baidu search results into a spreadsheet in ONLYOFFICE
Degree of difficulty: Basic
Language: English or Chinese
Description: Macros allow you to automate your routine tasks and standardize documents. ONLYOFFICE macros use the JavaScript syntax and ONLYOFFICE Document Builder API scripting notation. In this project, we will create a macro for ONLYOFFICE which can help you insert Baidu Search results into a spreadsheet.
Technical requirements: Strong self-learning ability, certain knowledge of JavaScript, willing to learn ONLYOFFICE API.
Project 2: Writing an AI plugin for ONLYOFFICE
Degree of difficulty: Advanced
Language: English or Chinese
Description: ONLYOFFICE offers support for plugins allowing developers to add specific features to the editors that are not directly related to the OOXML format. In this project, we will develop a plugin for ONLYOFFICE which can help you use Chinese AI directly in the document.
Technical requirements: Strong self-learning ability, strong knowledge of JavaScript, certain experience with developing plugins, willing to learn ONLYOFFICE API.
How to participate
Students can register and log in to the OSPP System through the student login portal on the official website, and complete the application by providing the required information as per the program requirements.
Project application time: April 29 – June 4, 2023, Beijing time (UTC+8)
Deadline for registration: June 3, 15:00 UTC+8.
Deadline for project application: June 4, 18:00 UTC+8.
Please note that a student must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration, and should have a valid student ID at the time of application.
