ONLYOFFICE connector for Nextcloud: how to create PDF forms
We updated ONLYOFFICE integration app for Nextcloud to version 9.3.0. From now on, it allows you to create and edit PDF forms. Read this post to learn the details.
Build PDF forms
Go to your Nextcloud Files, click New -> New PDF form.
You are able to create a blank PDF form from scratch or select any available text document to create a form based on it.
To add fields, switch to the Forms tab. Move the cursor where you want to place the field, and click on the required field type:
- Text Field
- Combo Box
- Dropdown
- Checkbox
- Radio Button
- Image
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Date & Time
- Zip Code
- Credit Card
- Complex Field
Once added, you can move form fields to another place in the document as well as adjust their properties which you will see on the right-side toolbar, for example, limit the number of characters, allow text entry on multiple lines, divide the field into cells for each character, make a field obligatory, manage roles, etc.
After you have added and adjusted all the fields, use the View Form option to see what your form will look like.
Quick tip: Like in a regular document, you can work with text and apply any styling and formatting. If necessary, you can add images, page numbers, apply page color, insert other decorative elements, etc.
Edit the uploaded forms
If you have a ready PDF form, upload it to your Nextcloud Files and open the file. It will be opened in the viewing mode (which allows you to fill in the form).
Click the Edit PDF button or the pencil icon to switch to the editing mode. Here, as described above, you can work with the form fields.
