Europe
Spain: MoodleMoot Global, September 19-21
ONLYOFFICE joined MoodleMoot Global at Hotel Barceló Sants, Barcelona, which is an annual in-person event that brings together developers, educators, and e-learning enthusiasts from all over the world to learn, collaborate and promote lifelong learning with Moodle. As a silver sponsor of the event, the ONLYOFFICE team gave a warm welcome to everyone at the dedicated booth at the event venue.
Along with the Barcelona gathering, we attended multiple Moodle events in various countries (France, UK & Ireland, Peru), and our final destination for 2023 will be Moodlemoot México scheduled for Nov 30 – Dec 1. See you there!
Germany
BILDUNG.DIG!TAL (Essen), September 26
BILDUNG.DIG!TAL was dedicated to the challenges and opportunities of digital education. With two main focuses – Technology & Administration and Teaching & Learning – the event provided a comprehensive program tailored to the needs of school authorities, municipal IT managers, school principals and teachers.
ONLYOFFICE was presented by the partners from Education Cloud (avony AG), so visitors had an opportunity to explore ONLYOFFICE and EDU Cloud as a strong privacy compliant combo for digital education.
Besides, ONLYOFFICE was also presented by Education Cloud on another educational fair – Swissdidac in Bern, Switzerland, on November 21-23.
OSB Alliance Open Source Day (Berlin), November 16
With this year’s program, the Open Source Business Alliance was addressing subject areas where they, as an association, were thinking further about digital sovereignty and open source, where new ideas and concepts arose and where they were tackling new challenges. Being one of the OSB Alliance members, ONLYOFFICE was one of the Gold sponsors of the event.
Italy
Italy ranks first on our list based on the number of the attended events in Europe and their diverse topics, including tech & open source, business & retail, education. So, in Italy we took part in:
- Open Source Week 2023 organized by RIOS (October 3-4, Rome);
- Fiera Didacta Italia which took place in Sicilia Fiera Exhibition Meeting Hub on the area of 12,000 sq. meters (October 12-14, Catania);
- Forum Retail (October 26, Milan);
- Red Hat Summit: Connect, two editions in Milan and Rome (November 14 and 22);
- World Business Forum (November 15-16, Milan).
By the way, the World Business Forum organized by WOBI provides an opportunity to be inspired by some of the world’s most renowned figures from business and beyond. And that’s true! During the event, Michael Phelps and Francis Ford Coppola gave their inspiring speeches.
Greece: FOSSCOMM, October 21-22
FOSSCOMM is the annual nationwide meeting of Greek FOSS communities. This time it took place in Heraklion, Crete. Our contributor and open-source influencer Efstathios Iosifidis represented ONLYOFFICE with a booth in the networking area along with the talk on how to organize secure collaboration for project teams with ONLYOFFICE DocSpace (a video recording will be available a bit later). Belgium: Odoo Experience, November 8-10
In Brussels, we took part in Odoo Experience, an annual event devoted to open-source enterprise software covering such topics as Odoo best practices, development, functional capabilities, and business growth. Odoo Experience brought together thousands of professionals from the IT industry, as well as Odoo partners, community members, employees, long time and potential customers.
By the way, ONLYOFFICE connector for Odoo was created following a request from one of our partners. And such an event gave us a great opportunity to collect valuable feedback for further integration enhancements. For example, we discussed the possibility of generating reports, collecting statistical data from Odoo modules such as CRM or Sales for transferring to spreadsheets.
France: EDUC@TECH EXPO, November 15-17
EDUC@TECH EXPO which took place in Paris was the meeting place for education professionals supported by the French Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The event was dedicated to the issue of school inclusion: offering more accessible formats, better adaptation of learning to individual needs, facilitating the work of teachers who daily face the contradiction of supporting the “classroom group” and at the same time individual students in their diversity. It was a real pleasure for us to meet lots of our existing customers among the expo visitors on site and exchange useful ideas with them.
Asia
If we speak about the Asian region, in China we attended the most number of events. Let’s take a deeper look.
The 23rd China International Industry Fair (Shanghai), September 19-23
CIIF is an international industrial brand exhibition on smart, green and international equipment manufacturing. Since CIIF’s launch in 1999, it has become a leading event with the largest scale, the most functions, the highest level and the strongest influence in China. ONLYOFFICE was one of the exhibitors. We met our partners from KylinSoft* and even participated in video shooting on site when the organizers were filming event advertising.
An interesting addition to CIIF became GOSIM Workshop by CSDN, a popular resource for developers in China. There, we listened to speeches from the system architect of Alibaba Cloud, the founder of CSDN, a representative from Huawei, and also chatted a bit with the Rust developer Josh Triplett about ONLYOFFICE.
*ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors are currently available on the Kylin Software Store, and ONLYOFFICE Docs Enterprise got certified by Kylin OS in 2022.
Shenzhen Global Artificial Intelligence Expo (Shenzhen), October 12-14
GAIE 2023, organized by Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, focused on the hottest technologies, new developments and most innovative benchmark enterprises in the industry. ONLYOFFICE was one of the exhibitors, gave a presentation on AI integrations, and … was named the best platform with AI by the expert jury!
8th Annual China Open Source Conference (Chengdu), October 28-29
With its unique position and growing influence, COSCon has gained strong support from top enterprises and international foundations. Unlike typical industry conferences, COSCon not only attracted different users from diverse enterprises and cross-project communities but also focused on garnering attention and participation from renowned open-source developers and contributors both domestically and internationally. ONLYOFFICE was one of the event sponsors and held a presentation at the Open Source Education forum.
2023 Shenzhen University Science Exhibition (Shenzhen), November 10-12
Aiming to cultivate students’ awareness of scientific research and innovation, and develop research and creative abilities, Shenzhen University Science Exhibition also showcased the innovative creativity and R&D achievements of the science and technology industry, increased connections between schools and enterprises, and drove the industry’s rapid development. ONLYOFFICE hosted a booth, provided expert consultations, product insights and useful merch.

South Korea: Edtech Korea Fair (September 21-23)
Continuing our business trips in Asia this fall, we arrived in Seoul where we took part in an educational exhibition for the first time.
EdTech Korea Fair showcased the latest advancements and innovations in the field of educational technology. The event offered a platform for educators, edtech companies, and industry professionals to come together and exchange ideas, knowledge, and best practices in leveraging technology to enhance learning and teaching experiences.
Indonesia: LibreOffice Conf. Asia x UbuCon Asia (October 7-8)
Another destination was Surakarta where we attended LOUCA23 which connected Linux and Open Source Software enthusiasts in Asia. It was the first time when we sponsored the LibreOffice conference.
The event comprised workshops, keynotes, classes, and discussions covering OSS technology, Linux, graphics, community contributions, and more.
We would like to say special thank you to the Ubuntu ID organizers, and namely to Yudhi Satrio who assisted us with preparations, and also to volunteer Ghozi Indra who represented us on site.
UAE: GITEX Global (October 16-20)
Dubai also became a new destination for us. There, we participated in GITEX Global, the world’s largest and most inclusive tech event which gathers advanced companies and best minds to elevate business, economy, society and culture through the power of innovation. Converging and unifying the world’s leading tech protagonists, inventors, academia, researchers and developers, GITEX 2023 also supercharged the epic global race for AI supremacy.

Africa
Morocco: Africa IT Meeting 2023 (November 14-16)
With the desire to explore further new event destinations, we arrived in Marrakesh to take part in Africa IT Meeting, a meeting spot for over 300 IT decision-makers from leading companies and government agencies and the most innovative solution providers on the African market. The event included networking spaces, enriching workshops and exchanges.
One of the most relevant questions here is RTL support. We are working hard to implement full RTL support, and for now you can already enable working on RTL in core using debug tools. Besides, we will release a new product version soon with the option to switch to the RTL interface in beta mode. We also invite everyone to help us translate ONLYOFFICE into RTL languages. Steps make up the road, together we’ll make it faster!
South America
In South America, our contributor Klaibson Natal Ribeiro Borges took part in multiple events, both offline and online:
- Networking Fair organized by the State Technical School (Etec) of Embu das Artes (Brazil);
- AguaraTech (Argentina);
- 20th Latin American Congress of Free Software and Open Technologies or Latinoware (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil);
- 5º Café com Software Livre organized by the Blumenau Free Software Community (Brazil);
- SASO Conf (Curuzú Cuatiá, Argentina).
And additionally (despite it’s not South America): Festa do Software Livre in Aveiro, Portugal + Hacktoberfest Edition of the Angola Open Source Fest.
