How the Lower Saxony Parity Welfare Association organizes secure collaboration with ONLYOFFICE and Nextcloud

The Parity Welfare Association from Lower Saxony, Germany, is using ONLYOFFICE Docs in combination with Nextcloud to support effective online collaboration between its employees. Dr. Claus Aye, Head of ORG/IT, talks about his team’s experience.

About the association

The Lower Saxony Parity Welfare Association (Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Niedersachsen) provides social services such as child care, everyday care for elderly and people with disabilities, integration assistance and mobile services, as well as volunteer agencies and self-help contact points.

The association includes approximately 870 member organizations and employs around 3,400 people. It is one of the six leading establishments of the federal working group “Free Welfare Care” in Germany.

Why ONLYOFFICE

Dr. Claus Aye tells us that they needed an affordable open-source office suite with smooth Nextcloud integration since it’s their main privacy-compliant working tool.

After searching for such a solution, the association opted for ONLYOFFICE Docs which allows them to edit files right within Nextcloud frontend.

The integration with Nextcloud as well as the licensing work flawlessly. The feedback from users has been positive so far, and we are particularly impressed by the ONLYOFFICE layout, which is very appealing and intuitive.

Most needed features

Dr. Aye says that with ONLYOFFICE it is possible to edit documents centrally for multiple people at once. Most often, the association employees create texts and document templates. They also use the PDF reader function, which is essential for their work.

The association would definitely recommend ONLYOFFICE in combination with Nextcloud to other users and companies.
