TeamLab Open Source And AMI Versions Updates

21 September 2011 By Nina 14 314

Hi everyone!

Today we’ve prepared a bit of serious but good news. To meet multiple users’ requests TeamLab open source and AMI versions have been updated and now include the highly-demanded access rights management feature set.

This way the open source and AMI solutions have all the options TeamLab SaaS version provides. The exception is made only for online editors and mobile versions. It means that

  • Business Collaboration module features are completely available in the open source and AMI solutions;
  • Project Management module features are completely available in the open source and AMI solutions;
  • Document Management is available in the open source solution and AMI solutions only with the exception of the online document editor.

We remind you that you can download TeamLab source codes and instructions at SourceForge. To deploy the AMI version, launching an Amazon instance, please use our Complete PDF guide.

We are sure that our users, especially those most experienced, have already taken advantage of the open codes or benefitted from using AMI instances and will find our current and future updates extremely useful as exactly these deployment solutions allow for modifying the platform according to your company’s specific needs.

Make maximum use of the updated functionality and have a good day!

    I second that! Can we expect mobile device support for projects, community, and etc and also document editing support in the AMI in the future?

      Michael, it’s not our current priority. Later on we plan to make available both mobile version and doc editing for AMI users.

      Dear Sunil, as you may have already known, the SaaS solution is our first priority at the moment as the majority of our users apply this very version. So in the near future we don’t plan to upgrade TeamLab Open Source. As soon as we include the new features in the open source codes, we’ll inform you. Please follow our news on Facebook and Twitter

        Hi – I understand that the SaaS solution is the top priority – it is the only one on which you currently are driving revenue. However, I would suspect that many users (like myself) are SaaS users just to get a look at the new features, but are also Open Source users, for running a private portal for the company.
        Without discounting the value of the SaaS model, would you guys consider doing an bleeding edge build of the open source, based on the latest SaaS build? Kindof the way wordpress has a nightly build, or for many Open Source projects you can have “use at your own risk” builds b4 beta…
        Anyway, just athought. I support the project and love what you do. Thanks!

          Tim, thanks for your kind words. We’ll think about your suggestion. We plan to upgrade the open source version. The fact is that our human and time resources are just limited. Hope you’ll understand us.

    Hello Teamlabs,

    I came across your site..I am impressed. Basically I have network of sites, I am planning to build my own Saas application like ballpark invoicing application with project management and other features…So my site members can use the saas app.

    I am little confused by you saas open source.

    Can I use your open source to offer such service..will there be any limitation in future…

    I am planning to offer a free service and a paid service.

    Also do you have it in PHP.

      Rahul, according to the GNU GPL v3 license terms, under which we distribute TeamLab Open Source, you’re free to use it for any of your specific needs. You just should include the reference to TeamLab. The source codes and license won’t change this year.

    I would also would like it if you could add the calender version to TeamLab Open Source soon since it is holding us back from using it on are own servers. Thank you for all your hard work it really is a great product! I also think you should add a way that when you creating a project from a template that you able to set a date that he needs to be done and have it put all the mile stones back from that date. Just an idea

      Justin, thanks for your support and ideas! Unfortunately, this year we won’t update the open source version mostly working on SaaS improvement. As soon as there’re any news on TeamLab Open Source, we’ll inform our community 🙂

    As Justin said, I will wait for the calendar version of open-source to be release prior updating CRM. Olga, which month can we expect the release with calendar option? thank you for the wonderful product and keeping it constantly updated.
