Click to zoom inAbout a month ago I wrote about our TeamLab Online Translation System developed specially for translating TeamLab into various languages and listed its advantages as compared with the previous translating procedure. During the past period our contributors (now they are 62) as system users and TeamLab team as system administrators have been diligently working in it and suggested some ideas on how to improve TeamLab Online Translation System. Now I’m glad to inform you that this system has recently been updated getting even more user-friendly and providing TeamLab translators with new possibilities.

The enhancements introduced in the new version of TeamLab Online Translation System are:

  • Interface

common design changed
Now the login page and the system itself resemble the standard TeamLab portals look representing one corporate identity design.
log out link added
If TeamLab translators have different passwords for various tasks within TeamLab Online Translation System, it’s convenient to sign out from the system and sign in using other login details.
projects drop-down list moved
To improve the system usability, the drop-down list containing translation projects was moved to the modules belonging to the currently selected project.
Translation and Search tabs added
For the same purpose the search link was transformed into a tab letting the system users switch between the Translation and Search tabs.

  • Translator assistance tools

alternative translation service added
The Bing service was added to facilitate the translation process from English into a certain language. TeamLab translators just need to click an alternative translation and it will be automatically copied to the translation field.
possibility to get link for the translated key added
If TeamLab translators have questions about their translation or English source text, they can always use the ‘Get Link’ button and copy the direct link to the key in TeamLab Online Translation System for the TeamLab team to know exactly what key is at issue.

That’s all for the improvements made to TeamLab Online Translation System. Next releases are coming…
