Manage More Efficiently with TeamLab Mobile Projects

24 August 2011 By Nina 20 247

Hello to everyone,

Today we’re excited to tell you about an important update: TeamLab Mobile version has been enhanced with the Projects section launched. Along with Community activities now you get an ability to manage and monitor projects via your smartphone: view projects and team information, create, add, comment tasks and milestones, organize and take part in discussions.

In case you haven’t used TeamLab Mobile before, you may be interested to know some facts about it. The mobile version is optimized for Android and iOS devices (Ipad users can enjoy the fully-featured standard TeamLab website). It has been developed as a web application that brings several essential advantages:

  • no downloads necessary. Just enter your corporate portal name in a mobile browser, authorize and go ahead to work;
  • automatic updates. You are relieved from any obligatory updates: the new functionality is available for everyone immediately after release.

Having introduced the improved TeamLab Mobile version, we hope to provide you with both a convenient communication means and a solid tool for management and control on the go. Please note that the current release is surely not the ultimate one and a decent number of additional features is coming next in the future. You’ll be able to access and manage personal or corporate documents, send email messages to team members and maintain clients relations. In other words, we intend to produce a comprehensive fully-featured mobile tool that follows the same development path as its web original.

Make use of TeamLab Mobile and run your business on the go!

Great news! I think your tool has great potential..

Do you have a rough estimate time of release for the calendar function? To me, that’s the only point still missing.

And what about a trial period for the premium version ? that would be great to understand how the private settings practically work . e.g. if view rights can be set-up by project for all elements (docs, discussion, etc..)

Francois, thanks for your kind words! There’s good news for you: from 24, July, private settings toolset is provided for free! It means you can create projects and docs that are available only for a number of particular users within your free account. Concerning calendar, it’s almost done and will be added in the autumn.

We just discovered TeamLab a few weeks ago and are brand new TeamLab AMI users. In short, we love TeamLab, it is an excellent tool and is far ahead of most of the competition. Mobile support is one of its greatest assets. The only problem is that when we navigate to the site on mobile browsers ( the mobile site does not appear (it 404’s to the regular site). Is this feature not included in the current AMI or is something wrong in our setup? Thanks in advance for your help.

This is a great tool. Users are definitely going to get a lot of satisfaction with this one. I know I will.

Businessmen who travel a lot and are always on the go will appreciate this. With the no download feature, I think this is as good as it gets.

I have a small question. I tried accessing our TeamLab intranet site with lots of mobile devices (Windows Phone 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″, Samsung Galaxy S ans S2, Nexus S, Iphone 3, Samsung Galaxy Mini), but we can’t see the mobile version of the site with any of them.
Our TeamLab is running on a Windows Server with TeamLab integrated webserver, should we configure it on IIS to get the mobile view feature?
    Thanks a lot in advance

Cristiano, the case is that the mobile version of Teamlab is available for Saas users only.

Great Product! I’m looking forward to the GANNT feature and the Calendar. Am I correct to assume the calendar will be iCAL compatible? Thanks for your great work.

Larry, thanks for your kind words! We’re working on Gantt charts and calendar. Could you please specify in what way you expect our calendar to be compatible with iCal (import option, etc) in our special feedback form We plan to add this feature in the second calendar version.

Toto, unfortunately, there’re no such plans for the near future. We’re mostly focused on the introduction of new features.

I’ve just come across and now signed up for a TeamLab account – so far, so good. There are so many ‘free’ services and software out there it’s difficult to find the gems. However, if TeamLab is as good as it looks (and it looks very good) then I’ll be a happy chappy.

Is this all too good to be true? I hope not, but I am curious as to how TeamLab in particular supports itself under a free SaaS model…

Chris, it’s a pleasure to know that you like TeamLab. As for your question about our monetization plan – currently, TeamLab supports itself by offering Premium Services that include extra storage space and advanced upload capacity. You can find more information about it here.
